The Friends of Harold Parker is a non-profit organization formed to promote, support and advocate for Harold Parker State Forest.
Since incorporating in 2015, our ambitious volunteers have undertaken several projects, including a successful 100th anniversary celebration, the addition of a new informational kiosk, and a campaign to re-open the Berry Pond swimming area. (Also successful!)
Volunteers run the popular Wednesday walking group and lead monthly guided nature hikes.
Hailing from Andover, North Andover, North Reading and beyond, on foot, on horseback and mountain bike, we represent a diverse range of park users who all want to make Harold Parker the best it can be. Please consider joining us.
We had a great morning for the 2024 Berry Pond Scramble! Runners and walkers from all over the region came together to compete in the challenging but rewarding race. The event went off without a hitch, thanks to the hard work of our dedicated volunteers.
Our large-format folding map of Harold Parker is available for order online. Full of color and detail, this is the definitive guide to all of the Forest's trails and treasures.
We are sending out a map to all Friends members!
